Overview
The Bachelor’s Program in Physics at King Abdulaziz University, established in 1973, is one of the pioneering academic programs within the College of Science. It is dedicated to preparing both male and female students in the fields of theoretical and applied physics, contributing to advancements in science and technology on both local and global scales. The program provides a well-rounded education, blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience, and focuses on fostering critical thinking and scientific analytical skills.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge
K.1 Recognize the essential terminology, concepts, theories and principals of basic sciences including
physics, math, statistics, and computer in addition to Arabic and Islamic culture.
K.2 Outline different analytical techniques and proper laboratory procedures\regulations for safe
handling and practices.
K.3 Describe the basic scientific concepts and principles that serve as the foundational keystones of
the physical phenomena.
Skills
S.1 Demonstrate written and oral communication skills, teamwork, and group discussion in physics
and related subjects.
S.2 Conduct experiments demonstrating the scientific methodology, data analysis and computer skills
in the assessment of scientific and industrial issues.
S.3 Apply appropriate mathematical and analytical methods for solving Physics problems.
S.4 Practice the ethics surrounding scientific research.
Values, Autonomy and Responsibility
V.1 Illustrate the right level of awareness of working skills required in solo or teamwork scenarios.
V.2 Communicate effectively via the different communication channels (e.g. orally, written letters and
reports, etc.).
V.3 Show independent learning by developing individualistic approach in dealing with a given
problem to meet a targeted need.
