Abstract
:
This paper describes four aurora displays in south Arabia ( Yemen), around latitude 16 degrees N, during the 9th, 13th, 14th, and 15th centuries. The first event is considered to be the earliest Arabian recorded event of aurora. The second and third events confirmed the case of strong solar activity during the end of the 12th century and mid 15th century, respectively. The fourth event was around solar maximum activity in 1449 AD. So, these records could be considered as proxies for intense geomagnetic solar storms, during early solar activities.
